This used to be the "Neil Gaiman in Manila" Event Website, but has now morphed into a local Gaiman fan blog, and soon, hopefully it will eventually evolve into a true fan site by Pinoy Gaiman fans. :)

Is it just me or is "In Likeness Of" in violation of the rules... it has 15 pages.

rule 12 says comics have to be no more than 12 pages maximum

rule 16 says any violation of the above rules is grounds for automatic disqualification... so how did it get in there is my question?

here’s a funny thought: if they released all the finalists in pdf for people to read, who’s going to buy the compilation? :P

The even funnier thought is that ALL the finalists have a Filipiniana theme -- which means they discarded those that didn't have this theme. A friend of mine asked about this and they said it was an unwritten criteria. Hello? How can that be? Same friend said that they imposed this in the last minute to cut down the entries. Is that right? NO FAIR if this is true.

So, who won?

I'm of the opinion that the sponsoring organization can judge this however they choose. Besides, a secondhand, unattributed comment about "an unwritten criteria" just sounds too conspiracy theorist to me. I would prefer sources be cited here, and if there really is something to protest, then file it.

I've already seen various misunderstandings of the shortlist, the rules, and the prizes circulating in various blogs, and it's annoying.

We were volunteers for the event, but even we were in the dark about the judging process. We forwarded some complaints that were communicated through us during the event to Fully Booked's people. I hope they were able to address it. If you guys have concerns about the contest, you can contact Fully Booked and try to get in touch with their Marketing people -- Ms. Rhea Llamas or Ms. Natalia Diaz.
